Overview

  • Missouri S&T provides Meal Plans that are convenient, flexible, and loaded with options.
  • All Meal Plans (except the Emerald Plan) are available to all on-campus and commuter students.
  • The Emerald plan is not available for students living in Thomas Jefferson or in Residential Commons that are not 21+ or do not yet have junior status.

Meals: Do not roll over to the next semester and expire at the end of the academic year.

Meals Example: The Gold Plan is 400 meals for the year, but 200 for each semester. If you only use 180 meals in the fall semester, those extra 20 meals will expire and will not carry over to spring. Then you will start again with 200 meals for the spring semester. At the end of the spring semester, any meals you do not use will also expire.

DBDs: Roll over to the next semester, but expire at the end of the academic year.

DBDs Example: For the Bronze Plan you get 3,590 DBDs for the year, if you only spend 2,000 of those in the fall semester, the rest will carry over to the spring semester and you will have 1,590 left. At the end of the spring semester, any DBDs you do not use will expire.

We know that mapping out your approach to using your meal plan is an important task. To help you gauge where you should be throughout the semester, view our guide that outlines the suggested balance for your plan on a weekly basis.

Students will be given an opportunity the first two weeks into both Fall and Spring Semester to change their meal plan. Students will need to visit the housing portal in order to change their meal plan. Once the two week time frame has passed, meal plans are locked in and cannot be changed until the beginning of the next semester.
